Set in the small town of Fairview, the novel opens with the chilling tale of Andie Bell, a popular high school senior whose murder rocked the community five years prior. The official story is that Andie’s boyfriend, Sal Singh, was responsible for her death before taking his own life. But as rumors swirl and whispers persist, protagonist Pip can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to the story than meets the eye.
What unfolds is a gripping tale of secrets, lies, and deception as Pip delves deeper into the mystery surrounding Andie’s death. Jackson’s storytelling is masterful, weaving together multiple narrative threads to create a rich tapestry of intrigue and suspense. From Pip’s relentless investigation to the ominous threats that begin to surface, the tension builds steadily throughout the novel, keeping readers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
